I get a sense that there is an intentional increase of electronic/industrial aspects to the songs on this E.P. Less pronounced than Satriani's "Engines of Creation" but noticable nonetheless. So I wonder if this EP, following their awesome full-length earlier this year, is a bit of a studio exploration of some new sounds/technology. Some nice instrumental songs here nonetheless. The amount of music and ideas in each TDWA release is a bit overwhelming. Some songs are very Joe Satriani-esque. Others are more Meshuggah. When these two aspects combine in one song--industrial djent and soulful melodies and solos--you get something really special. Some of the best instrumental prog metal that there is. MindOverFour
